Loukoumades – Doris (Athens, Greece)

These round doughnut-like pastries were drizzled with honey and topped with powdered sugar, cinnamon and walnuts. Crispy on the outside, soft and airy on the inside. The manager seemed gruff at first, but he’s a teddy bear inside…he gave us another plate for free!  Sadly this Athens institution is now closed.

  1. Hi! Thank you so much for visiting my blog. Glad to have found you. (I love cracker jacks!) 🙂 And, I wish I had a prize for you….I’m so happy to say, you are my 500th follower!!! 🙂 Thank you #500! Yes, I will be celebrating tonight.

      1. I spent about a week there in 2012, Mykonos/Santorini/Athens – it was incredible, to say the least. Lucky you, I wish I could have stayed longer! Greek food is definitely one of my favorites…what I wouldn’t do for an ice cold frappé!
